Giant Picture Book

This huge book was made by scientist Michael Hawley and is one of the eleven models available worldwide.
Called “Giant visual odyssey through the Kingdom of Bhutan”, the book has a height of 1.52 meters and a length of 2.13 meters and weighs about 60 kilograms. In its 112 pages, the book offers stunning and high quality images of the Last Himalayan Kingdom, taken on four trips through Bhutan. The entire book requires 1 gallon of ink and 1 day to be printed and the total costs are nearly $2000. The Giant Books sells for $10.000 and all the money is donated to various charity institutions. A Natural Root Bridge

A Natural Root Bridge Across a Valley at Cherrapunji, India — Cherrapunjee is a valley in North Eastern part of India, where the rain lashes the entire place 5 months in a year. Due to heavy rains as well as cyclones the locals in this place have developed in genuine way of building a bridge across valleys. The process is that the root of a rare Indian rubber tree is made to grow in a particular direction with the support of the bamboos and a constant watch is kept on the growth. As the root further grows, more and more bamboos are added to provide direction so that it reaches the other side of the valley crossing dangerous rivers below. These roots grow very slowly, at times a few millimeters in a few months and hence a small bridge of say about 40 feet takes a period of 23 years. This being the case, imagine how much time would have taken to build a double decker bridge as shown in the picture.

The locals say that it has taken 500 years to form this bridge that can withstand 90 people at a time without any sign of fear. Since the roots are continuously growing with their other end firmly set the strength of the bridge only gets enhanced as the days pass by. This bridge receives a good amount of tourists who have to trek quite a distance. Now this has become a trend in that area where the present generation creates a facility so that the next generation can use the same to cross the valleys in Meghalaya.

Mallika Sherwat has given her best to turn into an international 'naagin' for her upcoming Hollywood flick Hisss.

As per the international viewpoint, clothes obstructs one's metamorphosis into a 'naagin', so the actress had to shed clothes several times in the film when she was required to transform into a snake.

Now, everyone is curious to know whether Mallika has performed the nude scenes herself or a body double was used for the same. There is a report that the nude scenes were mostly performed by Mallika herself.

Considering the bold attitude of the actress, it is not very tough to believe.

However, her brother Vikram Lamba and co-producer Ratan Jain have repeatedly claimed that a body double was used for the nude scenes in Jennifer Lynch directed Hisss.

Govind Menon, co-producer of Hisss, has also confirmed the news. Menon was quoted saying that being a committed artist, Mallika wanted to give authentic feel to the scenes so she has done most of the nude scenes herself.

He added that Mallika was very comfortable doing the scenes because she was working with a woman director.

Menon added that if they want to compete with the best films of the world, they should be prepared to undertake whatever is performed by the leading actresses like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek.

He informed that body double was used in a scene where Mallika's character was required to crawl in the mud. This was used because of the cold weather and the mud scenes were physically burdensome.

The body double has also performed one or two stunts, as it was very dangerous for Mallika to jump.

The co-producer further said that the body double was not used in any of the transformation scenes. He said that the nude scenes are justified here because when one transforms into a snake, she can't wear a dress or even a small piece of cloth and jewelery.

However, the producer said that they did not zoom onto the private parts while taking the frontal nude shots and the full nude scenes were done aesthetically.
