Minnie Driver shows off her slimline figure just weeks after giving birth

Looking svelte in a skintight workout outfit, it is hard to believe Minnie Driver gave birth just a few weeks ago.

After sporting an enormous baby bump during her pregnancy the 38-year-old actress seems to have zipped back into shape in an amazingly short period of time.

The new mum showed off her slimline figure in a black vest and leggings as she chatted on the phone outside her house in Los Angeles.

Motherhood obviously suits the Hollywood star who looked happy and relaxed as she chatted and laughed on her mobile phone.

Her son Henry Story Driver was born in Los Angeles on September 5th weighing a healthy 9lbs and 12oz.

The actress has refused to name the baby's father since announcing her pregnancy in March and has admitted she wasn't sure if she would stay with him after the birth.

In May, Minnie denied reports Californian musician Craig Zolezzi was the father of her unborn child.

She told the New York Post: 'I’m not married and I don’t know if I’ll stay with the guy.

'It’s great to be an independent creature. Today you don’t need a man any more.

'In the old days, if you had a baby without marriage, people would put you out. I’m very into feeling this female thing.'

She continued: 'I want to shield the baby's dad as much as I can because it wasn't his choice to get roped into all this stuff.

'It'll come out in time. There'll be some other bump people will be interested in and I'll have this baby and get on with my life.'

The star's bump bloomed to an enormous size during her pregnancy and she showed off her rounded tummy in a bikini as she took a dip in the sea at Malibu Beach in August.

Announcing her pregnancy earlier this year, she said: 'Most of the women in my family get super girthy early on and I've got to say that's why I have this nice chiffon dress on. I'm fat.'

The 38-year-old singer/actress is expecting her first child any day now, which she has admitted she is 'hoping' will be a baby girl.

Over the weekend, the Good Will Hunting star took her mind off the impending birth with a relaxing day on Malibu Beach with another expectant friend and her dog Bubba.

Minnie Driver made the most of her last pre-baby days yesterday after admitting that she is not sure if she will stay with the child's father.

The glowing actress – who is due any day now – looked happy and relaxed as she visited a pet supplies store in Malibu with her dog Bubba.

Minnie, who has yet to reveal the identity of her baby's father, recently admitted she is not sure if he will have a role in the child’s life.

‘I’m not married and I don’t know if I’ll stay with the guy,' she told the New York Post.

‘My mum and aunt Serena will be with me, as will my best friends, a midwife and a yoga teacher. And I’ll be the wailing monster at the centre,’ she said.

She revealed that her beloved pooch has been a constant source of comfort throughout the last nine months.

‘With this pregnancy, I was very sick for the first four months. My black Labrador, Bubba, my forever constant loving companion, knew it,’ she said.

‘He’d see me lying on the couch. He’d stay with me. He felt for me.’

There was no shortage of A-list stars vying for attention, but all eyes were on Minnie Driver's big baby bump at the LA premiere of Hancock last night.

She still hasn't revealed his identity, saying again this week: 'He's not in the public eye and he shouldn't have to deal with all that stuff. It really is private.'

Asked if the mystery man will be involved in the child's upbringing, she replied 'Sure. He's going to be a dad.

She continued: 'I'm not married and I'm not getting married to this person. But I am taking full responsibility for being a mother. Everyone is grown up and kind of cool.

'I just want to create as happy and as loving an environment as I can. I've got this amazing family so I'm not really worried. But I don't know what's going to happen. I take life moment by moment.'

Minnie, who is due in August, plans to take around six months off work and insists she'll be in no rush to lose her pregnancy weight.

She told Hello! magazine: 'I don't know what this celebrity obsession of getting your pre-baby body back in the shortest time possible is all about.

'It's the most unhealthy thing and it's horrifying that you should somehow get back into a size two a couple of weeks after giving birth.

'So plan on seeing me podgy and fat, knocking around in Malibu and proud of it.'

Pregnant actress Minnie Driver looked just swell as she revealed her growing baby bump at a film premiere in Los Angeles last night.

Dressed in a cleavage-revealing baby-doll blouse, and matching black trousers, Minnie, 38, cut a sleek figure, even with her swelling bump at the premiere of film Street Kings at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

The British actress, 38, revealed her pregnancy in a blaze of publicity including an interview on US chat show Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

And last month on talk show Ellen, she revealed she was hoping for a girl.

However, the Good Will Hunting star has remained tight-lipped regarding the identity of the baby's father. Despite being asked by Leno who the father was, Driver declined to reveal his name.

But she appears to have embraced going solo while pregnant declaring she'll spend the summer "fat and happy".

But she admitted that there is one part of the process she could do without.

"I don't know why they call it morning sickness. I am sick morning, noon and night...but it's a fair trade off", she joked.

The 38-year-old has a busy couple of months coming up - she has released an album, Seastories in the UK and is touring Europe, Hawaii and LA.

But after that, Driver said, she'll be getting in plenty of pre-baby rest and relaxation.

"I'm just going to have the summer to be fat and happy," she said.
