The anti-poverty campaigner, 56, and his French actress girlfriend Jeanne Marine dressed their best for the 65th annual ball at the Austrian capital's Golden Hall.
Following the dress code of tails or tuxedos, the Irish rocker gave his costume extra prestige with his medal collection.

On his coat, Geldof pinned the neck medal and breast badge of his honorary knighthood on his lapel, and also displayed his Sudanese Order of the Two Niles, the Légion d'honneur and a Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
Despite his smart attire, it seemed Geldof hadn't bothered to style his infamous straggly hairdo.
Geldof's 37-year-old partner, however, looked stunning in her off-the-shoulder ivory floor-length satin gown and tiara.
The pair were special guests of Austrian media mogul Rudi and Isabella Klausnitzer at the late night ball, which ran till 5am.

All couples who attended the dance were expected to waltz - Geldof surprised critics as he nimblefooted his partner around the floor.
The couple started dating soon after his high-profile split from ex-wife Paul Yates, who left Geldof for Australian rocker Michael Hutchence.
Marine, who had small roles in Braveheart and the Gwyneth Paltrow movie Possession, moved in with the Boomtown Rat in 1996 and is step-mother to his three children Fifi, 24; Peaches, 18; and Pixie, 17; and their half-sister Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, 11.
